SUMMARY:CAPIC Post-Clearinghouse
DESCRIPTION:CAPIC Post-Clearinghouse Opens on May 1st and runs indefinitely.   \nUnmatched students use the InternFit platform for Creating and Submitting Application Materials\, even during Clearinghouse and Post-Clearinghouse. \nThe key difference between Clearinghouse and Post-Clearinghouse is that the student application fee is no longer required for new students applying for CAPIC internships.    \nRankings and matches are no longer done online.   Instead\, Offers and Acceptances are negotiated directly between internships and students (with the student’s doctoral program approval).    Please inform the CAPIC office (capicadmin@capic.net) of any matches formed.   \n  \nSee these webpages for more details: \nCAPIC: https://capic.net/resources/online-match-process/post-clearinghouse/ \nInternFit:  https://capic.internfit.com

SUMMARY:CAPIC Match: Clearinghouse
DESCRIPTION:CAPIC Clearinghouse will open on the InternFit platform at 12 noon on April 9th\, not on CAPIC Match Day (April 3rd) as in previous years. \n          o Unmatched students will not be able to submit applications until April 9th. \nBetween Match Day (April 3rd) and Clearinghouse (April 9th)\, sites should confirm the # of interns (aka open positions) they are still seeking for the 2018-19 training year. During this time\, students should review their application materials and prepare new cover letters\, as needed. \n– Sites who do not fill all of their open positions are automatically entered into Clearinghouse.\n       o Between Match Day (April 3rd) and Clearinghouse (April 9th)\, sites should confirm the # of interns (aka open positions) they are still seeking for the 2018-19 training year. NOTE: Internships should not delete tracks.  If you do\, you will permanently lose all info within that track (including submitted student materials).\n       o Internships who only have only one intern should continue participating in Clearinghouse to obtain minimum cohort OR should complete the steps to provide required peer interaction as outlined in our Minimum Cohort Consortia Agreement. \n\n – Starting with Clearinghouse at noon on April 9th:\n       o Students must still submit application materials via the CAPIC InternFit platform\, as before. Students may use their previously created application materials\, except for the Cover Letters. Cover Letters will have to be re-uploaded during the application submission process.\n       o Sites again contact students directly to arrange interviews. \n– Sites should extend internship offers directly to students\, as appropriate.\n       o Before accepting offers\, students should consult with their academic program’s DCT to ensure the internship meets its needs.\n       o An accepted offer constitutes a binding internship agreement.\n       o Sites will also be able to indicate on InternFit when an offer has been accepted and an internship match made. Alternatively\, an email should be sent to capicadmin@capic.net to inform CAPIC of matches formed during Clearinghouse and Post-Clearinghouse. \n– Sites are responsible for updating their # of Openings on the “Manage Tracks” page/tab on InternFit to indicate any change in participation. \n       o Zero (0) Openings means “no longer participating/seeking interns” and no additional applications can be submitted to that track/site.\n       o Again\, Internships should not delete tracks. If you do\, you will permanently lose all info within that track (including submitted student materials).

SUMMARY:ASPPB Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) is the alliance of state\, provincial\, and territorial agencies responsible for the licensure and certification of psychologists throughout the United States and Canada. Its members are the psychology licensing boards across the US and Canada.   \nCAPIC is a liaison to the ASPPB and attends ASPPB meetings to represents the interests of CAPIC and its stakeholders with ASPPB and its members. We educate them about CAPIC in order to help them evaluate applicants from CAPIC programs who seek licensure in their jurisdiction\, and to help them understand how their citizens can obtain licensure in California with CAPIC programs.    \nWe believe that CAPIC programs are substantially equivalent to APA and APPIC programs\, and provide a path to licensure by offering quality\, local and diverse training opportunities without the imprimatur of  accreditation.  We are also concerned with the potential lack of diversity in the profession\, as well as a reduction in services to diverse\, often-underserved communities\, which could result from allowing only APA-accredited programs as pathways to licensure.  We believe that multiple paths to licensure should exist and that the quality of the training should be the determinant of one’s competency to practice psychology.  \nThe following Letter On Equivalency\, recently sent to other State/Provincial licensing boards (and posted on our website)\, lays out CAPIC’s concerns\, our reasoning\, and our desired solutions.

SUMMARY:Registration Opens for 2018 Match
DESCRIPTION:The opening of student registrations for the 2018 CAPIC match was delayed until now (October 9th) because we have been setting up our new online systems.   Thanks for your understanding — and patience. \n  \nFor the 2018 CAPIC Online Match\, CAPIC has is using separate vendors (and websites) for different aspects of the match process: \nInternFit (https://capic.internfit.com) is now managing all online match operations (Student Registration\, Application Creation and Submission\, Ranking and Matching).  InternFit managed the last two aspects (Online Ranking and Matching) last year. \nTherasoft (https://programs.capic.net) is now managing CAPIC program profiles and Clearinghouse operations.  Login is no longer required for viewing or searching program profiles.  Login is still required for editing by the authorized representatives from each program. \n  \nNOTES FOR STUDENTS:\n Students must be registered with CAPIC or after October 9th to obtain access to the 2018 online application process. \nAll students must register annually on the CAPIC website (after Oct 9th); AND \n All previously registered students have been removed from the CAPIC system; AND\n No previously existing registration or application materials will be available for the new match process.\nThere is no fee for students to register with CAPIC.   The $200 application fee is not required until later in the process. \n  \nSee more info at http://capic.net/resources/students/student-registration/

SUMMARY:CAPIC Clearinghouse
DESCRIPTION:CAPIC Clearinghouse is the roughly 30-day period following the CAPIC Online Match for submitting applications\, ranking and matching in the CAPIC online match process.    \nFor the 2017 CAPIC Match\, Clearinghouse begins at 12 Noon on April 4\, 2017 on the CAPIC website. \nBelow are the main points of the CAPIC Clearinghouse process. \n\nDuring Clearinghouse (and Post-Clearinghouse)\, complete student application materials are still submitted online.  Students’ previously created materials may be used for these submissions. \n\n\nThe CAPIC website (www.capic.net) continues to provide info on doctoral internship programs still seeking interns. \n\nParticularly during and after Clearinghouse\, it is important for internships to update their profile to ensure an accurate list of participating programs for students.\n\n\nFor students\, those doctoral internships participating in Clearinghouse are listed as “participating in the current match process” once Clearinghouse begins on March 29th.  \n\n\nStudents should submit a normal\, complete set of application materials via the CAPIC website to internships where the student is interested in serving an internship.\n\n\nInternship programs then contact students directly to arrange interviews and extend doctoral internship offers directly to students\, as appropriate.\n\nStudents may also follow-up directly with internships where they are interested in serving.\nStudents must inform their DCT of any proposed internship arrangements\, to ensure it will meet their doctoral academic program’s requirements. Students must also obtain school approval before accepting any internship offers.\nOnce a Student and Internship program form an internship agreement\, the internship should inform CAPIC of the internship match via email (to capicadmin@capic.net).\n\n\n\nMore info is provided on our Clearinghouse web page.
