CAPIC Match: Post-Clearinghouse
May 1 - August 31
CAPIC Post-Clearinghouse will open on the InternFit platform at 12 noon on May 1st. It runs indefinitely, until the start of the next CAPIC online match cycle (in September).
The only procedural difference between CAPIC Clearinghouse and Post-Clearinghouse is that the application fee is now waived for newly participating students. Students who previously participated and paid the application fee may continue to participate without any additional fees.
– Sites who do not fill all of their open positions are automatically entered into Post-Clearinghouse.
o Sites should confirm the # of interns (aka open positions) they are still seeking for the 2018-19 training year. NOTE: Internships should not delete tracks. If you do, you will permanently lose all info within that track (including submitted student materials).
o Internships who only have only one intern should continue participating in Clearinghouse to obtain minimum cohort OR should complete the steps to provide required peer interaction as outlined in our Minimum Cohort Consortia Agreement.
– Starting with Post-Clearinghouse at noon on May 1st:
o Students must still submit application materials via the CAPIC InternFit platform, as before. Students may use their previously created application materials, except for the Cover Letters. Cover Letters will have to be re-uploaded during the application submission process.
o Sites again contact students directly to arrange interviews.
– Sites should extend internship offers directly to students, as appropriate.
o Before accepting offers, students should consult with their academic program’s DCT to ensure the internship meets its needs.
o An accepted offer constitutes a binding internship agreement.
o Sites will also be able to indicate on InternFit when an offer has been accepted and an internship match made. Alternatively, an email should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org to inform CAPIC of matches formed during Post-Clearinghouse.
– Sites are responsible for updating their # of Openings on the “Manage Tracks” page/tab on InternFit to indicate any change in participation.
o Zero (0) Openings means “no longer participating/seeking interns” and no additional applications can be submitted to that track/site.
o Again, Internships should not delete tracks. If you do, you will permanently lose all info within that track (including submitted student materials).
